• she was abandoned shortly after being born. it's unknown if she was orphaned or if her parents gave her up for some reason.
• she was selected at infancy to participate in a set of longitudinal psychological studies. the studies involved metacognition and problem solving in children. she and 29 other orphaned children were to be tracked over the course of 13 years in a naturalized environment. she was named phoebe. the study was government funded and the children lived together on a government based housing community.
• phoebe showed particular prowess in the tasks she was given during her time as a test subject and was rewarded as part of a positive reinforcement regimen to continue the subjects' willing participation in the study, which sometimes became an issue as the children grew older. phoebe preferred to be reinforced with even more problem solving tasks, and, as such, took an affinity for computer games that contained puzzles, riddles, and trivia (carefully selected so as not to confound with the study).
• the study, later called the Dyeus Studies (after the head researcher) were widely lauded for being groundbreaking forays into child psychology. the head researcher as well as the children have a brief stint of celebrity as they passed through the daytime television circuit. the children became known for being hyper-intelligent but rather cold.
• phoebe is similar in this regard. because she was undersocialized during her young childhood, she often has little interest in spending time with other people and has difficulty emoting like a normal person would. it's not so bad to make her socially nonfunctional, but she is noticeably chillier than most people her age.
• phoebe was later adopted by Professor Dyeus, along with one other child, [ POSSIBLE PLAYER CHARACTER ]. Professor Dyeus had taken a particular shining to them and wanted to see them continue to prosper.
• at 16, phoebe was given the opportunity to start college early as part of a special government program for underage test subjects. she decided to go to Recolle University. she went for two years for physics and philosophy, ultimately deciding college wasn't for her. the program is active until she is 30, so she figures she can go back if she ever feels like it.
• phoebe runs a let's play youtube under the pseudonym "Jup1ter" where she plays old point n click and puzzle games. she has speedrun several of them, able to memorize many games' puzzles and being notorious for solving procedurally generated puzzles quickly and efficiently. she's known for being rather private about her personal life, only showing up on camera when someone doubts her ability to do speedruns without tool assists. she made an appearance at a popular convention to speed run a game live as final proof, and because she's petty as hell.
• she occasionally plays online FPS and card games under her screenname.
• she makes a living doing this. she's now 20 years old.
